The Pops Mobile

We had a terrible Christmas unfortunately because Poppy got very ill.

She’s never been neutered do has seasons still and being an old girl this really took it out of her.

Her backside got incredibly swollen to the size of 1 1/2 tennis balls, she had terrible blood loss, she lost use of her legs quite often and was incredibly sluggish.

I watched her doing her business in the back garden and her legs gave way as she tried to pee. I asked friends to come round urgently and broke down when they came in I thought I was losing her.

I had to cancel a Christmas party at mine hat night I didn’t want all the excitement around her.

It was a Saturday so I waited till the Monday morning and took her to the Vet. She explained it’s probably to do with her season however once that ends in the next week or so I had to bring her back in for a scan, and I was to prepare myself for the worst.

When I came back in with Poppy they did the scan and found a tumour on her uterus. Because of her age they can’t treat her so testing to see how bad it is is pointless and so we don’t know how bad it is. It may be large but that isn’t necessarily bad.

I started timing my walks with Issy when Poppy was asleep because she couldn’t do long walks any more. But then once on a Sunday when I had to meet friends I had to leave the house while Poppy was awake and she watched me close the door and leave her behind and my heart broke so the second I got back I was straight on Amazon and got what I like to call…

THE POPS MOBILE!!!

It’s PawHut Dog Pram Dog Stroller Pet Pushchair with Adjustable Canopy for Medium and Large Dogs, Dark Grey.

It has a flat padded base for Poppy to rest on, buckles, to keep her safe, a full hood to bring down and keep the sun off her and pockets at the back for my phone and of course a bag of treates.

She was a little apprehensive getting in at first but it really only took her a few minutes to get comfortable.

There’s a mesh on the hood which is why in the photo to the right she has her back to the camera, she only liked face me at first.

You can see here she get’s a good view of me. I don’t know if that’s for safety, or she’s just staring me down for a treat. Well, I’m sure it’s a little of both.

We did get her to look around eventually for the camera.

But the most important think is she’s with us.

You can see I have her all rugged up, that’s a good tip to remember.

She’s moving less in there so need to make sure she’s rugged up and doesn’t get cold.

She does get out when she want’s to though which is great so sometimes I just take it out in case she needs it.

I have to say though my favourite now is she looks ahead where she’s going because she want’s to see the adventure ahead, but without fail, about very 20 – 30 seconds, she looks back, just to check I’m still there.
